About

I’m a mum of four and a teacher, and I’ve learned that some of the best moments happen outside. I am passionate about getting little ones outside and letting them discover the world through play. I also want parents to feel relaxed, connected, and inspired by spending time in nature with their children.

Welcome to Bramble Woods

After searching for the perfect place to run forest school sessions in Matlock, I feel so lucky to have found this beautiful hazel woodland — a space that’s accessible, welcoming, and full of natural magic for families to enjoy.

Outdoor play is vital for children’s development. Here, they’ll enjoy a rich sensory environment, spark their imagination, and build confidence as they explore freely.

It’s not just children who benefit — spending time in nature is proven to support both mental and physical health.

Why Bramblewood

After using nature and the outdoors in my classroom and then in family life, I wanted to share the joy of nature with other families too.

When my children were younger, the best way I found to manage a day of solo parenting was to get outside. Fresh air, play, and a little adventure made all the difference — and if I could meet a friend for a brew and a chat, even better!

At Bramblewood, sessions are carefully planned to be fun and to support children’s development. Each week also includes a simple activity designed to help both children and adults connect more deeply with nature.

We always finish with time around the campfire — a chance to enjoy a warm drink, share stories, and connect with others.
