Busy Brambles

Sessions

Monday Mornings 10.00-12.00

These sessions are drop in so don't worry if you are late or need to leave earlier.

We start with free play where the children are encouraged to explore the woodland and play!

There are a range of play areas within the wood which the children will notice are there every week but which may be enhanced depending on the season or topic.

This planned provision means that the children can build up familiarity within the woods but experiment and build upon their learning each week.

We will end each session with a warm drink and stories or songs. During the colder months, this will be around the campfire with a yummy snack!

Useful Information

  • Clothing

Layers are key for enjoying time outdoors — make sure both babies and grown-ups are dressed comfortably. Playing outside is so much more fun when everyone feels warm, dry, and able to move freely!

  • Hot Drinks

There’s nothing more comforting than a warm drink while enjoying the woods. Tea, coffee, and hot chocolate will be provided at each session. You’re welcome to bring your own mug — it’s a little like Goldilocks, sometimes your personal cup is “just right”! Don’t worry if you forget one; we always have some spares.

  • Parking

We’re lucky to use Cavendish Association’s car park. Please be respectful of local residents and park in the area closest to the Bramblewood gate. To ease congestion when leaving, follow the one-way system signposted at the car park exit. The gate will be locked after each session, so please do not leave cars behind. Vehicles are left at owners’ risk.

  • Access & Terrain

The woods are natural, which means paths are uneven, bumpy, and sometimes slippery. An all-terrain buggy should manage most paths, but a carrier or sling may be helpful. If you need to bring a pram, especially with multiple little ones, let me know before the session and I’ll meet you in the car park to help.
